On Thursday the 13th March, two of our school football teams played the second part of a local football tournament held at St Lukes. The B team again showed tremendous team-spirit and a great deal of determination – winning three of their matches, drawing two and losing one. The A team, who were unbeaten last week, were excited about the prospect of finishing high-up in the tournament. The first fixture for the A team was against Pinhoe A. Disappointingly, they lost the game 2-0. Despite an early setback the A Team went on to win their next two games; drawing one. At the end of the afternoon there was a small presentation where the winners were announced and medals were handed out. Out of the 12 teams that participated, Broadclyst A were joint winners along with Willowbrook. Clyst St Mary won the Spirit of the games award with both Broadclyst teams as runners up in that category. Overall both of the Broadclsyt teams played amazingly well together – doing themselves and the school proud. Well done boys!
