Full Time Caretaker – 42.5 hpw

Part Time Caretaker – 20 hpw

The Cornerstone Academy Trust is responsible for Broadclyst Community Primary School and the recently opened Westclyst Community Primary School. This is an exciting time to join a growing team within a growing academy trust.

Based at Broadclyst, we are seeking to employ flexible, hardworking and reliable people to support the general maintenance of the school and its site. Functions will include property maintenance, decoration, car park marshalling, cleaning, lawn mowing and other grounds related tasks. You will have key holder responsibilities. You will be responsible to our Facilities Manager.

Relevant experience and qualifications with maintenance and cleaning is desirable.

1.    Full Time Caretaker – 42.5 hpw

The position is all year round, with four weeks’ annual leave plus bank holidays. The working day will be between 8.30am and 5.30pm, with a 30-minute lunch break.

This is a permanent position and we require the right person to commence the role in September. The hourly rate is £7.56.

2.    Part Time Caretaker – 20 hpw

The position is term time only (38 weeks per year), with the possibility of additional hours in school holidays. The working day will typically be between 2.00pm and 6.00pm, although at times some flexibility would be valued.

This is a permanent position and we require the right person to commence the role in September. The hourly rate is £7.56.

Job Vacancy at Cornerstone Academy Trust for a

Catering Assistant

The Cornerstone Academy Trust is responsible for Broadclyst and Westclyst Community Primary Schools,

Based at Broadclyst, we are seeking to recruit a catering assistant to work alongside and report to our Chef. This is an exciting opportunity to join our dynamic catering team providing quality, home-cooked meals to children, staff and families every day.

The Catering Assistant will be involved in all areas of food preparation, cooking and kitchen hygiene processes, as well as a significant level of washing and clearing up duties to ensure the smooth running of a kitchen serving over 400 children and staff each day. They will need to be good communicators and team workers, demonstrated in their contact with staff and co-workers.

Required in September, the post is initially for a fixed term until July 2018. Hours of work will be up to 5 hours a day, worked by agreement between 9am and 3pm, Monday to Friday. The position is term time only (38 weeks per annum) but in time the role could expand to cover for functions out of school hours including school holidays.

There will be a 9-month probationary period. Ideally we are looking for someone with experience of catering.

The hourly rate for both posts is £7.05 (£7.50 if you are over 25 years of age).

Visits to the school are welcome by prior arrangement.
