The Global Enterprise Challenge is well underway in year 6 as the children have been developing their marketing plan in their company groups and devising sales strategies for the forthcoming weeks of making and selling their products. Many of the children have been working together to create radio and TV adverts as well as flyers, posters, letters and banners. They have been learning about successful sales and marketing in their lessons and have been working closely with their team mates in devising a sales plan in order to achieve the highest profit margins.
On the 25th to the 26th January, 10 children were selected to represent their teams and the GEC at the Bett show in London. They were able to discuss the project and participate in some Live lessons with their team mates whilst they were collecting market research to feedback to the rest of their team members back at school. The children were able to discuss and learn about effective marketing strategies using new products and software and were able to experience the layout of the different stands at the show, noticing how companies in the real world advertise and sell.
This year 21 schools taking part in the Global Enterprise Challenge with 210 company teams are competing to be the most successful business across the globe. The teams are using the features of Office 365 to support communication with teams abroad where they share ideas and feedback using Skype4Business, Yammer and SharePoint.
