24 Hour Run ..what a success!

The 24 hour run was a huge success and kickstarted the school’s Ethiopia fundraising. Broadclyst  and Westclyst Primary school children lined the corridors, playgrounds and halls to cheer on the three teachers who set themselves the challenge of running throughout the night and following day. The event started at 3pm and throughout the long evening Miss Fox, Miss Smith and Miss Clarke were joined by many of their supportive colleagues who picked out time slots to help with the exhausting challenge. Parents and children were able to skype in and view the running taking place on the treadmill that was situated in the Hall for the entire event.

On Friday morning the teachers were feeling extremely tired and beginning to ache but were greeted by many cheers, supportive waves and kind donations which spurred them on to continue. Throughout the day each class from Broadclyst and Westclyst came along in their PE kits to support the teachers running. They took part in circuits, dances and ran alongside the running machine to keep spirits up. All children were keen to take part and join in with the fun of the day. The event ended at 3pm Friday, when the teachers completed a victory lap around the school playground and crossed the red line.

We were overwhelmed with the generosity and kindness that many people showed for the event. We are now well on our way to reaching our goal. Your money will enable us to deliver projects and lessons to under privileged children in a country that is much less fortunate than ours.
