Musical Theatre Yr 4 - 6

Musical Theatre club takes place after school on a Tuesday and is run by Mrs Alex Pulfer and Miss Abbe Martin. Rehearsals have begun for Peter Pan, to be performed at Victory Hall at the end of June. The auditions for the main characters were held before Christmas, there are songs to learn, and choreograph, and all theos lines to remember!

The club provides children with opportunities to sing, dance, act and choreograph. In addition to these performance skills, this year the children will be able to help make the costumes and props.

Musical theatre club encourages confidence, co-ordination and new friendships between year groups. It is a great way for the children to express themselves creatively and release some energy.

Unlike the other clubs, musical theatre continues each term, working towards a performance in the summer term. This requires dedication, hard work and support from parents. It is great fun and the shows, three evening performances and one matinee, frequently sell out.

Previous musicals have included Joseph and his Technicolour Dreamcoat, Oliver, Annie, Gilbert and Sullivan's Pirates of Penzance, and last year, Aladdin. The children sang, danced and acted amazingly well. The audiences we very impressed and the staff and performers were very proud. You can watch the performance by logging onto ClickView.

The club meets at school in Mr Arnot's classroom (5DA) but is held at Victory Hall and parents collect the children from there at 5pm.
