Broadclyst School took part in an Exeter Swimming Gala at Pyramids Swimming Pool on Tuesday 23rd June and the children swam their hearts out. All of the children who took part represented the school well, supporting one another and those from other schools. There were five events in total, including butterfly, breaststroke, freestyle, backstroke and the relay, which were then split down into age groups. Many of the races were extremely close with a few of the Broadclyst children only missing out on a final by one hundredth of a second.
Overall Broadclyst swimmers ended up with a gold medal in the butterfly, a silver in both the breaststroke and freestyle and a bronze in backstroke. Others achieved great results, receiving a ribbon for coming 4th, 5th or 6th. Well done to Lucy R, Sam E, Maddie G, Jess C, Thomas M, Grace J, Robert D, Keira C, Charlotte S, Harriet K, Jack B, Maddie J, Sam R, Owen G, Thomas D, Gracie B and a special well done to Matthew W, who was the only one representing the year 4 boys.
