Tag rugby club is run by Mr Pitts on Thursdays at 3.30-4.45pm and the children meet in 3DL. It is a chance for children to develop their skills in drills designed to improve their passing, running, attacking, defending and working as a team, as well as a variety of other skills. They also have the chance to participate in small-sided games and full games to allow them to put their skills into practice and remember where each player should be placed during the game.
The only things needed for tag rugby club are normal PE kit and a pair of football or rugby boots.
This club is a fun opportunity to learn about tag rugby, it is for children who play every day and for those who have never played before. However, those who come along and show an aptitude and enthusiasm for the game are in pole position to be selected for the school's tag rugby team, which plays friendlies and competitive tournaments against a variety of other schools. We also participate in tag rugby events organised through Clyst Vale, which give children a chance to develop skills in a fun and enjoyable environment. In spring 2014, the team performed so well they played in the final at Twickenham.
