The whole school walked to the village playing fields where every child had the opportunity to participate in the numerous events. Once again we can be proud of the good sportsmanship and competitive spirit of all the children.

Aladdin

The last two performances of the Musical Theatre Club's production of Aladdin are tomorrow. The children have been rehearsing once a week as part of an after-school club and I have been amazed by their achievement, and impressed by the children's ability to act, sing and remember all their lines in such a limited amount of time. The set and costumes are amazing, and have all been created by staff from the school with the help and support of parents. Each performance has got better and I can't wait to see how the children will perform tomorrow evening.

The children dramatised the lives of those on the Killerton Estate at the outbreak of WWI. The quality of the performances was superb and the children should be congratulated for the effort they all put into bringing their characters to life.

It was their reward for emerging triumphant from this season's Aviva Premiership Rugby Schools Programme Festival, which was run by the Chiefs Community department at schools across Devon and Cornwall.

Microsoft Enterprise Project Reported on Exe FM

From the ExeFM website yesterday:

Pupils at a local school are gearing up to become international entrepreneurs.

Broadclyst Primary won 15 thousand pounds from the IT giant Microsoft in a Dragon's Den-style pitch earlier this year, with their idea for a Global Enterprise Challenge. They're now recruiting other schools around the world to get involved in the opportunities to devise products, make prototypes, do market research and finally sell them.
