Year 1 have really enjoyed taking part in the Global Communities Project this term, growing both wheat and sunflowers. Seeds were planted in different growing conditions and then growth progress was monitored and compared. The children have looked forward to comparing their findings with other schools participating in the project. They have learnt all about the farm-to-fork process and baked a range of flour-based treats.
They have also been looking at different forms of art this term, including the sculpture and painting techniques of Joan Miro. This project culminated in a trip to the Royal Albert Memorial Museum in Exeter, where the children used artform spotter wheels to identify a variety of art ranging from poetry to textiles.
